WELLS RESERVE GIS TRAININGS AIDED BY MAINE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT TO LAUDHOLM TRUST

WELLS, MAINE - Laudholm Trust has recently received a $4,300 grant from the Maine Community Foundation to enhance training programs offered by the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. The Wells Reserve educates people in southern Maine about using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to help preserve and protect land and water resources throughout the region.

"The Wells Reserve GIS center has been assisting municipalities, conservation commissions, and land trusts with their mapping needs for 10 years," said Susan Rouillard, president of Laudholm Trust. "This grant will help the Wells Reserve put the power of GIS directly into the hands of people who are working to protect southern Maine watersheds."

To learn when GIS trainings will be offered, visit the online calendar at wellsreserve.org or call 207-646-1555.

Laudholm Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the research, education, and stewardship programs of the Wells Reserve. For information about the Trust, visit www.laudholm.org or call 207-646-4521.
