Eileen got started as a volunteer as we planned the first Punkinfiddle festival and quickly got involved in many other ways. She is now the weekend attendant in the Visitor Center, where she enjoys answering questions people have about their nature observations — "especially coming up with an ID from a tiny smart phone photo."
Eileen regularly guides walks in the woods using her deep knowledge of trees (she's a lab instructor in dendrology at the University of New Hampshire) and monitors marine invasive species as part of the MIMIC program.
What is your choice of mascot for Wells Reserve and why?
My mascot is the pitch pine grove closest to the surf on Laudholm Beach. That tree stand models perseverance in a harsh environment!
