This event is handicap accessiblePlease join the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Natural Resource and Conservation Service (NRCS) and State partners Maine Natural Areas Program (MNAP) and Maine Forest Service (MFS) for an Invasive Plant Educational Workshop. Participants will learn about Invasive plant biology, ecological impacts, identification, fundamental concepts of invasive plant management and related state and federal programs in classroom and field settings. About the Presenters
Sean Horan has a joint role with both the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as a climate smart agriculture and forestry professional. His objective, working with both groups, is to provide technical support to landowners through conducting outreach, generating educational material, presenting at relevant events, and more. His goal is to support forest and agricultural landowners throughout the state in adopting or continuing sustainable, climate smart land management. Additionally, he is a point of contact regarding NRCS programs and forestry related inquiries.
Nicholas Rowleys work focuses on providing technical assistance to farmers, gardeners and other community members in Franklin County. Nicks past work focused on cover cropping, weed management on vegetable farms and in forage, compost utilization, reduced tillage and vegetable variety trials.
