Burn Pile Turns to Embers

Posted by | December 2, 2013

Fire fascinates, so it's hard to resist a catching up with this "old" news in December.

The burn pile aflame

On the edge of the Laudholm campus, beside the growing all-seasons garden, is our burn pile. Scrap wood and fallen limbs stack up for months, then a trained crew lights a bonfire and keeps watch for the hours until the pile becomes embers. Lately, it's often been an AmeriCorps team to manage the burn, as it was in mid October when these photos were taken. Thanks, Silpa Sadhujan, for sharing them.
