Step Into A Bird's World

Are you curious about the lives of the birds around you? Have you ever wondered what they eat, where they rest at night or what they're saying? This half-day field workshop blends a little bit of bird identification with seeking out bird tracks & sign, interpreting their sounds and understanding their lives. Spend the morning with bird language expert & wildlife tracker Dan Gardoqui to gain a deeper connection to the birds. Participants should be dressed to be outdoors for the entire three hours - regardless of temperature. Dress in layers. Bring snacks and a drink.  For adults & interested teens. Group size limited to 15 people. Presented in partnership with York County Audubon. 

Dan Gardoqui is a co-founder and Executive Director of White Pine Programs - a nature connection nonprofit based in York, Maine. He has been studying naturalist skills, wildlife tracking, bird language & mentoring for over 25 years. Dan has a M.S. in Natural Resources, is a Certified Wildlife Tracker, Registered Maine Guide & served as Science Faculty at Granite State College for over a decade. Through wildlife tracking, Dan has contributed to wildlife studies and served as science editor for the bird language book What the Robin Knows. While not navigating the landscape of nonprofit leadership & management, Dan loves spending time trail running, hunting, playing music & being a dad to his boys.
