Winter Recreation

Winter is a beautiful time to enjoy the Reserve. Our site and trails are well-suited for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and more!

Trail Report

We will update this space periodically throughout the season as weather and trail conditions continue to evolve. Keep an eye on our social media for the most up-to-date reports.

Trails are not groomed in winter.

February 17, 2026

Trails are suitable for walking or cross-country skiing. There has been some melting due to warmer temperatures, but there is still snow cover. Many of the trails are packed from skis, snowshoes, and foot traffic. Plenty of pristine snow in fields for bushwhacking!

Sledding

The hill below the Farmhouse (Visitor Center) is known by locals as one of the best sledding hills in the area. Come on over and see for yourself. The Laudholm Connector off the Knight Trail offers a steeper plunge!

Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Our trails are great for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, depending on snow conditions. Trails are not groomed. Bring your own equipment and enjoy! (No rentals.)

Winter Walks

We offer guided walks throughout the winter season as well as periodic wildlife tracking workshops and more. Visit our program calendar to learn more.
