Meet Research Associate Jeremy Miller and learn about SWMP — the System-Wide Monitoring Program — a core research program happening at all 29 research reserves. See the equipment and learn how SWMP collects accurate, long-term weather and water quality data from our nation's estuaries. Jeremy will demonstrate sampling equipment, explain laboratory techniques for filtering and analyzing water samples, and show how collecting a robust, continuous data set on climate and water chemistry is vitally important for understanding change in our coastal communities.
The Wells Reserve operates in accordance with orders from the Governor of Maine and instructions from the Maine Center for Disease Control. Reserve leadership will monitor, evaluate, and adapt as needed to ensure all programs operate safely and effectively.
This program will be held indoors, so please have a mask on hand if you are not vaccinated and/or feel safer being masked inside.
