Artists of all ages will gather for a morning of plein air drawing and sharing creativity. Drawing together, we can support and inspire each other in the process and simple pleasure of observational sketching. Artist and creative wellness educator, Laura Jaquays, will guide the program and offer tips for drawing and mindfulness in nature. Please dress for the outdoors. Adults and children ages 8 and up (with adult) are welcome!
Bring your own drawing materials (see the list below), or purchase a creativity kit on the day of the program for $10.
- Sketchbook or folio with medium weight paper. Good sizes for drawing outdoors are 9x12, 6x9, or pocket-size.
- HB drawing pencil or varied grades with an eraser and small sharpener.
- Colored pencils, crayons, or oils pastels.
About the Presenter
Laura Jaquays is an artist and educator who has taught creative wellness for nearly 30 years to support long-term illness, mental health and resilience, hospice care, and K-12 education. She is the founder of ART HOPE, a nonprofit dedicated to creative wellness education. Inspired by her community work and personal exploration, she authored the book ART HOPE The Way To Creative Wellness.
