Earth Day Newspaper Pot Making and Seed Sowing

Join York County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers to roll up a newspaper pot, stuff it with starting mix and plant a sunflower to celebrate Earth Day! You'll take home a planted pot with growing information. Later you'll be able to plant the sunflower in your garden, nurture it, and watch it grow. Other seeds may be available for planting as well.

Master Gardener Volunteers will also have information available regarding the UMaine/UNH Extension Pollinator Friendly Garden Certification program. There are almost 200 beautiful pollinator and ecosystem supporting native gardens currently certified across Maine and New Hampshire. Learn more about what you can do to join these important spaces whether you certify or not.
