Green plants are cool. Of course they provide us with the oxygen that we breath and much of our food, as well as adding scenic beauty to the landscape. But that’s not all! We’ll learn about a common plant which the Chippewa used as a remedy for craziness. We’ll also learn about a common fruit which American sea captains fed to their sailors on long voyages to prevent scurvy. Perhaps you’re worried about another power outage. We’ll show you a common fruit which can be used to make candles. We’ll also look at a plant which you can use to make herbal teas. Join us for tips on identifying a number of trees, shrubs and wildflowers and hear stories of how they were and continue to be used.
Please note: Program fee does not include site admission fee.
