Join Native Fish Coalition of Maine board member Mark Simonds to explore brook trout biology and habitat, while learning about three Kennebunk streams that epitomize the clear, cold, and clean waters needed for brook trout self-sustainment. Present and future threats to brook trout will also be discussed.
About the Presenter
Mark Simonds is an outdoor enthusiast, an engineer, and a conservationist. He recently retired from the aerospace industry. His current focus is collaborating with conservation groups engaged in improving and maintaining Maine’s rivers and stream ecosystems. Mark is a board member of the Native Fish Coalition of Maine, which educates the public and advises state agencies on native fish conservation. As an active member of Trout Unlimited Sebago Chapter, Mark helps maintain local riverine ecosystems. He also writes letters and provides public testimony advocating for The Natural Resources Council of Maine initiatives.
