Spend two weeks (Monday-Friday) exploring the varied habitats of the Reserve with a naturalist’s eyes and ears! Use fine-tuned observation skills to sketch and journal in nature, while learning to identify native plants and animals. Investigate on foot along the trails, and by kayak on the calm and tidal Little River. Tap your creative side by making pressed plant bookmarks, solar ovens, and more! Connect with the earth through an organic gardening project. And embark on hands-on experiments, both outside in the fields, forests, marsh, and beach, and inside using microscopes and other scientific tools. Ages 12 to 15.

For more information, please email Suzanne@wellsnerr.org, or call (207) 646-1555 x 116.

Scholarship money is available, with applications considered on a rolling basis.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If a camp session is cancelled by the Wells Reserve, registrants will be issued a full refund.
  • If a camp session is cancelled by the registrant before June 1, refunds will be issued minus a $50 processing fee.
  • If a camp session is cancelled by the registrant after June 1 and more than 14 days from the start of the camp session, a 50% refund will be issued.
  • If a camp session is cancelled by the registrant within 14 days of the start of the camp session, no refund will be issued.

Please note: None of our camps involve swimming, though our preference is that camp participants have some comfort in the water. All camps visit the water’s edge. At the beach, campers get their feet and ankles wet while exploring tidepools. At the marsh and shallow section of the Merriland River, campers wade and cool off in knee-deep water (about 1.5 feet).
