Goodwin Marsh

The Wells Reserve invites community members to join us for an outdoor site visit to Goodwin Marsh, a section of salt marsh just above Drakes Island Bridge on Drakes Island Road. Salt marsh restoration work will break ground this spring as part of the broader Drakes Island Road bridge replacement project. This restoration effort is designed to improve marsh function and resilience while complementing the upcoming bridge improvements that will enhance tidal flow beneath the roadway.

This site visit is an opportunity for those interested to see the work in progress, learn more about the project, and ask questions. Staff from Northeast Wetland Restoration, the organization responsible for the design and implementation of the restoration, will be actively working on the marsh. Salt marsh scientists will lead a discussion about the project and answer questions from the group.

Registration for this site visit will be capped at 20 people.
