Preparing for Extreme Weather in a Climate-changed World:
What to Know, How to Prepare, and the Importance of Engaging with Your Neighbors

As the famous Mainer Steven King has said: “There is no harm in hoping for the best, as long as you are prepared for the worst”. As our changing climate amplifies the risk of extreme weather and other natural hazards, knowing what to do and how to prepare ahead of time can be lifesaving. In the final installment of the Resilience in Action speaker series, please join us to learn how and where you can access local flood data, engage with local and regional emergency management planning efforts, and reflect on the assets and vulnerabilities you and your neighbors may share in the event of an emergency.

Food and refreshments provided.

Location:

Wells Public Library
1434 Post Rd, Wells, Maine

This program is a part of the Summer “Resilience in Action” Speaker Series, a collaboration between the Wells Reserve’s Training & Engagement Program, Friends of the Wells Public Library, and Save Our Shores Maine.
