Intertwined Artist Talk & Nature Journaling Walk
Join artist Christine Andrews for an exploration of her joint exhibition Intertwined at the Wells Reserve. We'll begin in the gallery, where Christine will share her process, the ideas behind the show, and how her nature journaling practice shapes the finished work.
We'll then head outside onto the Reserve's trails for a hands-on introduction to nature journaling, where you'll practice the same kind of close observation and connection to the natural world that is integral to Christine's artistic practice — no drawing skills required. We'll return to the gallery to revisit the exhibition with fresh eyes, seeing firsthand how that practice of noticing translates into finished works.
Good to know: All materials for our journaling walk will be provided. Small blankets for sitting while we journal are also provided, but please feel free to bring a hiking/packable stool.
Intertwined: The Forests and the Wildlife it Sustains is on view from August 19 through November 20. The Coastal Ecology Center Gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm, free with site admission.
