Meet the Scientists: Monitoring the Impacts of Coastal Storms in Southern Maine

As major coastal storms continue to batter the coast of New England (and elsewhere) each year, scientists and meteorologists are starting to rethink how we both prepare, predict, and react to these impactful storms. Join Jeremy Miller (Manager of the System Wide Monitoring Program or "SWMP"), as he explains how NOAA's network of coastal observation stations help to collect and even forecast important information on the timing and impacts of severe coastal storms. Jeremy will also share a new "tool" or application which is in the works, that aims to better inform our coastal residents and communities about the timing and impacts of these coastal storms BEFORE they hit.
