Adirondack chairs with open field beyond. It's challenging to find a spot on the southern coast of Maine that isn't naturally beautiful, but the Wells Reserve at Laudholm is that and much more. Sprawling over more than 2,000 acres of land, the reserve features beach and dune, forest and field.

Beyond the scientific importance of this unique place, the setting and surroundings are truly breathtaking. The campus and buildings evoke warm feelings of nostalgia and a quiet reverence, as restored architecture of this nature is a rare find. Perched on a hill, overlooking a wide, pristine field, the saltwater Laudholm farmhouse creates an incredible backdrop for a special day. Its large wrap-around porch, complete with weathered Adirondack chairs, lends a classic elegance to the setting.

The spacious grass courtyard is home to a quaint gazebo, perfectly sized for two. Across the courtyard, a century-old barn features rustic beams and traditional architecture. Wide floorboards, wrought iron and soft light effortlessly create a romantic ambiance. Firmly rooted between the courtyard and fields is a regal copper beech tree, begging to be included in the event plan. Walking paths to wooded trails and a secluded beach present an array of photo opportunities to further enhance memories.

The copper beech awaits the wedding party.

A wedding at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm creates memories to share with generations to come. It's not a place that you visit once. It stays with you. You miss it like that old friend you haven't seen in a while but picks up right where you left off. It's impossible not to form an emotional connection with this magical site. This is a place to discover… for yourself.
