Views from above

In early August 2009, James S. and Susan W. Aber of Geospectra, in collaboration with Vinton Valentine, raised a helium blimp carrying a digital camera above the Barrier Beach Trail and took several beautiful pictures of their surroundings. We appreciate being able to share a few of them here.

These are spectacular images. The last one of the farm itself gives the visitor a sense of how wooded Maine really is.
These dramatic images offer a dynamic perspective of the Reserve and the surrounding countryside -- a perfect reason to visit the Reserve at ANY time!
