Some rotting wood on the outside of the cow barn needed attention, so John was pulling off the beadboard siding this forenoon. At first, he thought he was seeing things, but soon a clear picture emerged. What appeared behind the boards?

Do you recognize this cowboy? The lettering appears to say 'John Self', but is that a self-portrait of John or some character from a sixties-era cartoon? In any case, the artwork has been hidden for at least 20-something years and will soon be back behind the boards. (Scratched near this in pencil, but too faint to show well here, was another cartoonish character looking like a lion.)
